Half Day City Tour

The City of Cape Town

Take a leisurely drive around the beautiful city of Cape Town and take in the sights and sounds of this cosmopolitan city. Explore some of the many museums, historical buildings and famous landmarks and relive some of the history that has shaped South Africa over the years.

Visit the Bo-Kaap, a multicultural suburb with brightly coloured houses, where many of the inhabitants are descendants of the slaves brought here by the early Dutch settlers. View the Castle of Good Hope which was the centre of civilian, administrative and military life at the Cape in the late seventeenth century. Drive to District Six where 60 000 people were forcibly removed during the apartheid era and their houses demolished.

Often the best way to experience a city is on foot - the Company Gardens (bordered by the Houses of Parliament and St Georges Cathedral), Long Street and Greenmarket Square provide such an opportunity.
